There’ve been times I’ve sat in meetings feeling like I needed a translator just to keep up! But I’m a firm believer in finding your voice, no matter what (thanks to my dad’s fierce advocacy when I was younger – he never let anyone silence me!). & that means taking ownership of my learning & not being afraid to ask questions (even if there were times in my schooling where I felt silenced, a challenge I later re-framed at UEL by embracing the importance of the right environment & finding my “tribe”). Let’s be honest, the entrepreneurial world throws a lot at you. One minute you’re trying to decipher toddler language, the next you’re grappling with a new marketing strategy, & then, oh look, Espresso (our whirlwind puppy) has decided your brand new planner makes an excellent chew toy. It’s a constant juggle, isn’t it? Just this morning, I was trying to explain ‘customer lifetime value’ to my teenage daughter while simultaneously cleaning up a rogue glitter explosion and mediating a squabble between the little ones over a rogue Duplo brick, all while Espresso was doing her usual impersonation of a furry bouncing ball, going from wall to wall.
